OUR STORY
Serving Hearts Since 2010
The Sunflower Collective began as the private practice of a social worker searching for purpose, compassion, and connection.
Over the years, that single seed grew into a collective — a community of storytellers, counsellors, and dreamers who believe in small, gentle steps toward healing.
What started as one person’s journey has blossomed into a shared space of creativity and care.
OUR FOUNDER’S STORY
I’m a clinical social worker, storyteller, and lifelong seeker of meaning.
My path has wound through rehabilitation centres, classrooms, courtrooms, and community clinics. I’ve trained and walked alongside social-auxiliary workers, community developers, and lay counsellors — helping them find their own spark to make a difference.
My practice began in the field of mental health and substance use, grew through clinical study at UCT, and expanded into gender-affirming care and emotional wellness.
Through all these experiences, one truth has remained: every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and hopeful.
OUR PURPOSE
We exist to help people and communities bloom where they are planted.
The Sunflower Collective offers information, creative projects, and gentle tools that support mental health, emotional literacy, and self-growth — from guided challenges to stories for children and adults alike.
Whether it’s a quiet letter, a joyful challenge, or a tale that stirs empathy, our purpose is the same: to bring light to dark corners and remind you that healing is possible.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
🌻 We believe in small gentle steps.
Healing doesn’t rush; growth takes patience.
We hold space for diversity, creativity, and kindness.
We honour both science and story, logic and love.
We learn from our own challenges — ADHD, anxiety, depression — not as limitations, but as bridges of understanding.
And we never forget to laugh, to rest, and to look toward the sun.
A NOTE TO YOU
Dear Brave You,
Wherever you are on your path — unsure, tired, hopeful, blooming — we’re glad you’re here.
May this space remind you that purpose is not a destination but a practice.
Keep growing. Keep reaching for the light.
